Today, as we honor the victims and heroes of 9/11, we reflect on our own small contribution to recovery efforts and the beginnings of our company’s story. Following the tragedy on September 11, 2001, the founding members of the TAC Insight team worked on the Forensic Recovery Mission at the Staten Island Landfill, processing massive volumes of debris in an effort to recover items of forensic significance.

We are deeply honored to have participated in the mission to identify victims and their personal belongings in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. Working alongside the NYPD and prime contractor Phillips & Jordan, we provided personnel, equipment, and data management for 1,462,000 tons of debris collected from Ground Zero. This project helped launch TAC Insight as a company.

Since this initial mission, founders Steve Rasmussen and Mike Mendiola have worked to forge a new way of doing things across the trucking, aggregate, and construction industries. This goal has given rise to our innovative Fast-Weigh platform, which now remains at the forefront of cloud-based industry software.

As Mike and Steve remember our history and the privilege of working alongside the NYPD and Phillips & Jordan during that solemn time, we express our gratitude and celebrate the relationship we still have with Phillips & Jordan today.

Let us stand today in remembrance, with the same unity and honor we felt back then. God Bless America.
